They say that it is beautiful to have a love it’s difficult to say goodbye to, and this week my tears have flooded like waterfalls.
What was supposed to be a fun weekend away together before I officially move, has turned into the actual move. Look, I am not the best when it comes to understanding reading, but missing a whole week on info is something new
So on Saturday the 7th my parents waved goodbye to my boy and me at Eindhoven Airport. We arrived in London with two suitcases and were exhausted to decided to tuck in bed as soon as we arrived. The next day we had our first full English and headed off to the city. Our hotel was at Earl’s Court so the trip to Victoria was easily found. We wandered around Piccadilly for a bit until I went to have coffee with my future flatmate. I let my boy stroll around the London streets, which he adores. I cannot believe how happy that boy is just to get lost in a city he doesn’t know. When I was done I knew where to find him; Waterstones. I found him with a newly bought book before we headed towards my new place. On the way we stopped by multiple pubs and Somerset House, making the walk easier and less rainy.
After our exploration of Brick Lane we walked back to one of my favorite places in London; The Globe. We ended the night enjoying a drink next to the Thames.
The next morning we only had one thing we wanted to do for the day; visit Saint Paul’s cathedral. We decided to have breakfast nearby and then spend nearly three hours there. There’s three places I can leave my boy for hours without him getting bored; a museum, a bookstore and a church. We even walked up the 528 steps to the top, which was quite the accomplishment for a girl with a fear of heights. After learning all we could, we went on our way to the Tower Bridge. We wanted to visit the Tower of London as well, but we had tickets booked for a musical that night, so that’s on our list for next time. We enjoyed some snacks nearby the bridge before we traveled to West End to enjoy our meal and go to the Book of Mormon. A musical my boy wanted to see really badly and it did not disappoint at all!
After we sat down at a pub, trying to stay positive and not let the tears win from the excitement. Did you know you can walk about with alcohol in London? At least that’s what the pub said when they sent us on our way with a half pint in a take away cup.
When we came home we rearranged our bags, and just lay in bed looking at each other. A sight I’ve had for almost two years, a warmth, a haven, and now I need to make do with short visits every three weeks. We’ve cried so much the last week that at this very moment we could just stare.
He brought me to school that morning, we hugged and teared up, but it’s good. Because they say that it is beautiful to have a love it’s difficult to say goodbye to.
